Dietary Restrictions are due to University Catering 10 working business days prior to your event.  If there are any dietary restrictions that you are aware of now, please share for planning purposes of our team.

Any other details about your event that University Catering should know?  If you are asking for anything off menu, please provide your price point for your catering needs (food, beverage, linens) for your event here for our staff to better plan for your needs.

Payment Method

If paying by check, an invoice will be sent to you after your event occurs with payment instructions.  Please do not bring payment for University Catering to your event, not all staff are authorized to accept payment from clients.  Please initial below indicating understanding of the payment process.

If paying by credit card, an invoice will be sent to you after your event occurs with payment instructions including the contact phone number by which to make a credit card payment.  Please initial below indicating understanding of the payment process.

Acknowledgement of University Catering Policies:

The completion of this form is not confirmation of your order.  You will receive a separate email confirmation with pricing once University Catering has accepted your order and added your event(s) to our calendar. For any questions or adjustments, please email unlcatering@unl.edu.

Final menu, guest count, and any dietary restrictions will be due to University Catering at least 10 business days prior to your event on order for us to source food and beverage, and staff appropriately for your event. 

University Catering will do its best to accommodate last minute requests.  In case of last minute requests, University Catering will have discretion over menu and service based on inventory and staffing available.

All cancellations must be called into the Catering office at 402-472-8161 at least three business days prior to your event to avoid any charges.  In the event of inclement weather, University Catering adheres to the following policy: If the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is closed, all catering events will be automatically cancelled.

Final invoices will be sent post the event to the email on file with payment instructions.  University Catering will aim to send all invoices no later than ten business days post the event's occurrence.

State Sales Tax


Nebraska state sales tax is applied to all food service events at the current rate of 7.25% + 2% occupational tax. Please let your catering sales representative know if your group has tax exempt status.

Leftover Food


We plan your event(s) so there will be minimum food waste. No food or beverage may leave the premises. Buffet meals will be maintained for no longer than 1.5 hours unless arrangements are made in advance. For health and safety reasons no food or beverage(s) are permitted from outside vendors with the exception of special event cakes.

Cancellations


All cancellations must be called into the catering office, 402-472-8161, at least three (3) business days prior to your event to avoid any charges. In the event of inclement weather, University Catering adheres to the following policy: If the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is closed, all catering events will be automatically canceled.

Ten-day Lead Time


We require a minimum of ten days to receive your:

  • Desired menu (due to preparation logistics and the potential need for special orders)
  • Dietary accommodations
  • Event count changes (limits excessive inventory and helps us reduce food waste)

No To-Go Meals


It is prohibited for customers to take away food from any University Catering event buffet.

Last-minute Catering Requests


We will not be able to cater for any unexpected event without at least a three-day lead time. In the case of a last-minute catered event, the University Catering team will have discretion over the menu and what is served.
